August 23, 201014 yr Author The pied chicks arent all that big, but all three may be hens. The mother wasnt feeding all that well so one chick was moved out of the nest and now she has just two to care for. Parents are now a little mystery and seem to be carrying dark factor and split blue. one pied is either cobalt or violet. Colour showing on the blue is less inaccurate in the second photo One is dark green or a violet green ? The colour coming through on the green pied resembles a dark forest green colour. The other chick is grey pied. Parents PAIR SIX GREY SPANGLE COCK ( Omelettes and his first breeding ) to FRAN MC LAUGHGLAN SKY HEN Hen Old photo Five eggs and four showing fertile Hen got out of the nest last night when the first chick hatched....chick dead this morning. All eggs cold. Moved three eggs to another nest in case they will make it. One chick made it from the ice cold eggs ...............in a foster nest.......this chick and there seems to be 4 fertile eggs or more in the parents second round. This chick on the other hand is quite large and a hen Edited August 23, 201014 yr by KAZ
August 24, 201014 yr Author PAIR SIX GREY SPANGLE COCK ( Omelettes and his first breeding ) to FRAN MC LAUGHGLAN SKY HEN Hen ( Old photo ) The sole surviving chick from this pair ( due to cold eggs and fostering cold eggs out......an opaline grey hen chick ...is coming out really nice, I think. four fertile eggs to that pair this time and due to hatch the first anyday now and the greywing dilute nest chicks are doing well Chick #1 Chick #2 Chick # 3 Chick # 4 Edited August 24, 201014 yr by KAZ
August 24, 201014 yr Chick # 4 So this one is the plum-eyed baby, right? And she is both dilute and cinnamon? It seems like the dilute must mask any effect of the cinnamon. So if you hadn't noticed her plum eyes when she hatched, no one would suspect she was cinnamon, would they? I guess that's good to know for when you breed her, so you can track where she sends the cinnamon gene.

Chick is a very pretty skyblue greywing dominant pied.
August 25, 201014 yr Author The skyblue greywing dominant pied shares the nest with yet another foster so seemingly gets less food than this big hen Edited August 25, 201014 yr by KAZ
