  3. They're great I'm feeding them a breeding diet so that I won't have to be surprised, it has these ingredients: Hardboiled egg (with shell), raw pistachio kernels, Pasta, bean sprouts, lettuce, and a tablespoon of seed and a tablespoon of pellets... This is enough for Sparta and the finches and a bit extra they love it, also, my friends have some beautiful finches, one is a female with male markings (I was confused too, but they had it sex checked it sure enough, it was a female) They said that I can take as many as I like (for free) So when Issa and Zebby's first clutch are in breeding condition, I'll pair them up with one of my friends' Thanks for asking Sounds good here is a picture of one of my female charcoal zebra finches there brown pigmentation is turned into black pigmentation . This is a link to the AFF ( Australian finch forum ) I recommend you join it has heaps of good information and all the members are friendly. you will be able to access more of the forum once you have posted 5 posts. 4. How are the finches going?
  5. A zebra finch is sexually mature at 13 weeks of age. I breed my birds at the age of 6 months.
  6. Looking great . What I've noticed is that when i used to use those wicker nests ( the nest that u have in there ) u get less chicks successfully growing and fledging. I switched to nest boxes. ( I own and breed 35 zebra finches)
  7. Don't worry she's basically incubating 24/7 now
  8. I don't know if this is the right place to post this but my hen has laid 3 eggs so far and she has just lost interest in them, is there anything I can do to help? Thanks, Mike

Hi Kat welcome to the Forums
  10. Yes the photo's are of the same chick. I thought only rec. pieds have a clear patch on the back of their head but I guess I was wrong.
  11. Today I just noticed the chick has a clear patch on the back of it's head. Isn't the patch on recessive pieds? not dominant pieds?
  12. Thanks Guys
  13. Someone?
