Just wanted to know cause I found a show lace in my draw
  2. Mexico has a high population with aids and if someone who has it gets sick then they show symptoms of this flu before it kills them. There is really only about 15 confermed cases with swine flu the others were just symptoms.

  4. Molly has her very own herb garden which we set up this afternoon as far as I have researched the following six herbs in her garden are okay for budgies but please tell me other wise: Mint, Parsley, Lemon Thyme, Golden Oregano, Rosemary and Sweet Basil. She has only every had mint before and terned up her beak at it so hopefully she will like the other 5.
  5. When growing a herb garden for your budgies can you put fertilizer (liquid etc.) onto your plants and it still be safe for your budgies to eat the plant? Also how do you keep pests away from the herbs without using pesticides?
  6. Well its quite hot and humid here but there stored in a pantry, apart from that I wouldn't know.Ingrediants: omega 3 marine triglycerides equiv. eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaehoic acid.No artificial surfactants, yeast, starch, gluten, colours, sweetners, dairy etcwe got them about 1 week and a half ago

  8. I was giving my dog fish oil tablets but she hates them so we cut the end of the tablet and poured the fish oil onto her meat. I was wondering because I have heard that you can give budgies cod liver oil would you also be able to put the fish oil from the human fish oil tablets onto any fresh fruit and veg???

  12. In one of the recipes I want to try it mentions wild rice, as I have never heard of this type of rice i was wondering if i could replace wild rice with jasmine rice is its safe?
  13. what about the calcium bells at pet stores are they alright for budgies?
  14. We have wormed her but our old worming stuff was taken of the market. With that stuff we did her every 2 months would it be the same with this stuff?
  15. Juts wondering if anyone used this worming stuff for there budgies and whether its any good? Also it doesn't say how often to worm the budgies with this stuff so if someone could tell me that would be great? Worms it apparently does: threadworm caecal worm roundworm gape worm gizzard worm tapeworm are there any other worms that I should be aware of? Or worming stiff that does more that those that could be found in an queensland pet store?
  16. Well thank you for that information and Im gonna get that book, so far I have saved A$300 for if Molly gets sick and needs vet treatment.
  17. What about rapping things up with a bit of paper bark, paper bark is native to Australia so I am assuming its safe for budgies please correct me if I am wrongWas just thinking you could also try hollowing out the apple core and seeds and stuffing the apple with goodies and hanging that up would encourage chewing
  18. How do you know wether paper towels are safe like what should you look out for on the packaging?
  19. Multiple aviary birds are treated on a cyclic basis for various things. When you walk through your aviary you dont look a bird square in the eye, you look up its butt from under the perch...any sick looking fluffed up ones get pulled out of the aviary and put into a sick cage for assessment and treatment. Quarantine is a time to observe and treat for things. Some people keep the treatments simple and other more expereinced breeders treat for all possible hidden illnesses. What do you mean like worm treatments and mite treatment?? Could you give me an example of a cyclic treatment programe for multiple birds? Could you also tell me what other treatments do people use besides worm and mite treatments?
  20. okay so I should just give her, her normal water container with water no bath
  21. My cousin had a budgie in a cage with standard bar spacing and some of the bars her slightly bent enough for him to get half his body out but he was a farly big budgie so he didn't get out
  22. thanks for that, she has a clip on birdie bath room but she only ever drinks out of it she never baths in it. Its funny cause she drinks out of what she is supposed to bath in and baths in what shes supposed to drink out of. So during the time Im away I will replace the clip on bird bath and put a shallow dish in for her instead.
  23. I was also wondering today, if one bird has an illness that is laying dormant in there system (and that illness is triggered either by stress or another bird) how can you be sure even after quaranteen that your bird(s) wont get sick?
  24. okay so I have decided that its best for Molly to leave her with my Grandparents insted of taking her with me. My reasons for this is because A: they have a cat who is an indoor cat, even though is doesn't go for there bird it may thing of Molly as a new toys etc. B: because they have lots of little children that might decide to let Molly out and she may get lose outside. C: because is either Molly or Tweety have some illness that is laying dorment in thier systems then either of them could get sick and D: because my unce hates loud noises tweety just chatters to her toys were as Molly scretches to her toys and with the two birds they may be constantly calling out to one another and theres the other reason of if Molly stresses out. Now the only problem I have with leaving Molly at home would be that both Grandparents will be working all day from 8:30 in morning till 4:00 in afternoon. I did consider leaving her cage outside but we have regular visits from the butcher birds and from the stories I have heard Its not a good idea. Our house is installated so its cooller inside then out but it can still get a bit warm inside. We have an allarm system so keeping the fans on would just trigger it. Would Molly be okay??
