My son and I were recently told the his female Sapphire would have trouble laying her eggs if mated to Albert the beautiful big English budgie beside her on the right. Since then, my son did some research on the internet and found that the female lays her size eggs no matter. I was wondering what breeders on this forum, with experience in this matter thought. Would Sapphire have any trouble laying eggs? Thanks in advance for your help. Link to comment

The budgie won't be as big as an English type but it won't be as small as a normal type. I haven't bred the two together before but I have had budgies which were a cross. Usually the head is big and the body is small. Some others will clarify it. Thanks Link to comment

Egg size is controlled by the female's body not the male's. The size of the male is irrelevant. Regards Link to comment
