Actually he said $100 up but that would be really **** birds, you wouldn't get anything decent off him for a hundred you would need to spend at leat $250 for a decent one.But he has earnt his name so I guess he is entitled to charge that. He does have good birds nice face with good feather but some are shourt in the body. Edited March 22, 2009 by splat Link to comment

We were orginally going to pop some cage fronts onto the cages we have built, but I told my husband as long as we get the birds into proper cages today as soon as possible, I would have to deal with it. Anyway earlier today I went to the bird room and they seemed to being doing fine. I decided to leave the door of the bird room open because it was a nice day and yes you guess it one of the doors on a show cage had come loose and when we had finished the cages I went to swap over the birds and one of the cages was empty  . Thank God I didn't have the really big bucks to spend. I have wasted $120.00 but I have to look on the bright side and be glad because it wasn't a lot more. Big lesson lent!!! Link to comment

On the other note about Roger Watson, if you want to check out his culls he sells to Burwood birds and pets. We can pick up his culls for around $20 - $30 a bird. In fact we purchased the sister of one bird that went for over $300 for $20. Granted she is a little smaller but not by much. Link to comment

Normally he will call me and says he has a cull cage and if i buy through him direct I can get them for around $10 a bird. he seems to have two types of birds. Birds he culls (and some of these are really good but he missed ringing them so they are unrung) and birds he keeps/shows/sells at auction. Getting some of his better culls as a place to start would not be a bad idea if you are starting out. Link to comment

I was the light "black" Maori guy sitting on the edge lol, you guys should look at coming to one of our meets, they are really relaxing, and if you sit back and listen, you get to learn a few things! You even get a laugh out of some of the older breeders! There is one Thursday 26th starting at 8pm, there will be a small club show on, and one of the breeders is going to bring in his feather duster for all to have a look at! Same place that the auction was held! If anyone else wants to come along feel free we have an open door policy, make yourself known to either AV or myself or BL13 0r melbournebudgies ( Ill put sneeky stickers on their backs so you can find them, lol) Promise you wont get pestered on the first meeting!
