He's a TCB which is something I've always wanted but I'll resist the urge if he's not worth the $ from a show breeding perspective 2. He jumped out at me as having show breeding potential 3. He just had this gorgeous 'presence' about him Link to comment

I agree that number 2 is a nice bird, & agree with Kaz that no3 hasn’t such a deep mask, but his blow, from the top of his cere to the top of his head is better in my opinion, they look like they could be brothers, so may have similar genes. It isn't easy to get a hold of TCBs . I can check if the ring numbers are close on the two opalines but they are from someone who is deceased so records are a little patchy at the mment. I wouldnt say his mask was long but it isnt bad- a bit pinched in around the face but not too bad. The others look alot better as they are opalines- so more feather bigger spots, opalines always look good- even the crappier ones!! If I was planning on playing around with clearbodies for a while Id give him a go. Number 3 isnt too bad but he looks like a penguin on the perch Id have a look at a breeders stock before I rushed out and got him. Edited September 25, 2008 by the pie Link to comment

And I go by 60% visual you never know what the gene pool will bring out They may look like Stock birds, but their babies could turn out to be a Bird that is good enough to show. I agree with the TCB with it's spots they ( out of the 3 ) are better - The Cobalt feathers look course But could be a good trait for a Stock bird Pinched heads are hard to breed out of the gene But if you pair these correctly you could very well have a great out come Just my thoughts :budgiedance: Link to comment

But as others have said, if they come from good stock, you will probably be getting a good gene pool & even if birds aren’t show beaters themselves they could produce far better birds than themselves. That’s if your lucky, quite a few good looking birds I have bought ended up not breeding…so it’s all a gamble. Link to comment
