Can you take a picture that shows us the set up from a distance? Think backdoor then one every 4 or so metres as you get closer The two other kindie cages are in the way at the moment. And the full distance is not quite 6m. Ken and I are doing the external cladding of the front aviary right now, so all birds can go in and be safe. Once thats done I will take more pictures. If you mean take pictures from the back door of the house to the aviary, there is too much building cr*p in the way right now. I have noticed now that more birds in there have learnt to fly fully front to back and gain enough lift for the perches. Edited November 16, 2009 by KAZ Link to comment

Yes, that is the plan although timewise I may not get to do it until xmas or so. We will see. If it needs it sooner it will be done. The higher roof and crossflow breezes help a lot with temperatures. Time will tell, but the plan is for shadecloth for summer. Edited November 18, 2009 by KAZ Link to comment

Some fo them were enjoying getting wet this morning when I checked on them. Today is windy with some more rain. i am working ...leadlights so I wont be moving any more birds in today. The weekend will see all birds in the new flights that will be going in. Show cage training for him!!! Doesnt he look different to when he was a baby ? He was the sibling that his sister NASTY attacked in the nestbox and he came close to dying too as he wouldnt take the feeds I was giving him....so glad he turned around and started eating. The chicks had to leave the nest early as their Mum started laying again too early. He was bumped out of the nestbox at age 2 and a half weeks or so. Link to comment

When you look at a budgie straight on the outline of feathers appears to nip in at eye level so it looks like a key hole as opposed to being round faced. Link to comment

How to breed that bird is a bit beyond me .... I'm thinking that pronounced backscull may play a part ... I don't know, hence my question, HOW ar we going to cut that out?! This year I have seen a couple of the "new" bird on the bench but as yet they are few and far between. Edited November 18, 2009 by renee Link to comment
