This is very exciting news Boomboom! I 'accidentally' found myself in a huge pet shop today - honestly! the places my car likes to take me! Anyways, I spotted 3 I wanted - I managed to restrain myself though.

Next birds to buy Boomboom, Kakariki! They are the best pet & are exceedingly cute & funny!

Hmmm matey you are encouraging me hehehe.

Are Kaks as lovable and as tame as tiels aka Noo hehe. I like the yellow ones are there are some for sale at Pets At Home too.

I have never had a pet tiel, but Sal & Jon have them as pets along with their budgies & you know their great stories.

Don't forget Scully now has a pair of them too & she just adores them!

What I know is they aren't a 'cuddle up and fall asleep tucked into you' type of bird, but they are extremely fun & entertaining & keep you on your toes with their antics.

Oh, and they (Sal & Jon) have a young hen available for sale right now.

You are getting him really young, he will tame down. Just let him make all the moves, I've found that works best.

He is 7 weeks old he is gorgeous - I want him now. I just hope the others dont influence him. Hopefully the quarantine period will help.

I found in my aviary where Junior Boss is, he actually influences alot of the other birds! I go in there and he'd fly up to me, land on me or just give me a kiss & the others want to go where he goes. I had a young alnino land on my shoulder last week after following Junior & he looked as shocked as I did!

Maybe keep Beano away from the others for 3 months. Some vets recommend a 3 month quarantine period. That would give you heaps of bonding time.

Yeah might be worth it Karen, he wont be able to escape the sound of them though - 9 other birds arent going to stay quiet for 3 months are they hehe.

You could always take him back to work with you!! That would be a hoot, I bet everyone would love him!! So excited for you, I was in the pet shop the other day and saw a beautiful budgie, my husband dragged me away from the budgie cages!!! :(Laughing out loud):
