I went off and got it today the day I won it :ausb: The people where great and only like a 5 min drive from me. Thankfully since of the way we got it home (pictures) The help get it on the trailer and offer a few more boxes to the set, even offered some breeding cages too but they were too water damaged to be bothered with. It is now set up with all the boxes removed from the inside. We also brought with us half a coloney of ants that thought the unused boxes where a great place to live. That was the only bad thing the boxes where not cleaned out after been used so the sawdust and feather where still in there :grbud: Nothing a good clean will not fix since the boxes themselves are in good nick. Any way it's in place a slightly different why to what i was thinking but I like it this way better. I just have to clean it all out and fill in the ground to make it level. I'm going to have to use gravel and sand on the bottom.....or pavers like i remember seein in homers just now Wow a long story well enjoy the pictures it will stay like this for a little while now. out the front you can see our 'bush' in the background that is our view from the front of the house now in place, you can see the gap that needs filling at the front. I also need to look about setting up another door or something to block the door as I walk in. Link to comment

Can you dig out the section at the back of the aviary to make it level or is it easier to fill in the front ? I rigged up a safer door set up on my smaller aviary by putting two poles along the roofline extending out over the door by a metre or more. Got some shade cloth, sewed it up like a tent annexe section with a door flap with velcro. Base is pegged down with tent pegs. Cheap and easy to do. I go in through the shadecloth area, velcro the door shut and then go into the aviary from there. Any birds get through the metal door and they are still in the safe area. Cheers Kaz PS We have a violet spangle baby in Hotlips and Radars box :ausb: Link to comment

To dig it means having to move it a bit at the time to dig under it now (Laughing out loud). The shade cloth is a great idea I might use that. It would be quick simple cheap and workable :grbud: We have the tent pegs might even still have some shadecloth left over from when the pagola (sp?) was redone. You have to get us a picture of that baby !! I'm so happy for you. Edited December 25, 2006 by Nerwen Link to comment

Family camp Don't fear I have set up a badysitter (or birdsitter) Too Help keep the cage in place (I'm sure it would have to be a VERy strong wind to knock it for six) we are going to use some star pickets in the corners and screw or bolt them to the cage. It was nice and cool this afternoon as it sprinkled a bit with a cool wind so I did some work on the avairy, which has now been named and from here on in will be known as Tweetaville. I dug up the ground inside (and choped a earth worm in half ) to level it out so the hole inside is filled. It will need a little bit more there still as the groun compacts down. But it's getting there, I had to add some dirt to the outside as well to keep the bricks in place and to make mowing easier later on. I took a picture for you. (of cuase) New look Tweetaville: My poor little hand with a blister (proof that I did the work): Link to comment
