Woot! Go you :D I wish you all the best.

Just wondering what did you need to get into the course? Not sure if NZ has OP's or something else to mark grades.

Wonderful!!! How exciting for you. I hear its very hard to get into Vet school. Could you do us all a favour and also get your pilots license and keep your pasport up to date ???? I hear there is a shortage of Avian Vets worldwide so we could use your services ..........travelling avian vet :angel1:

Well the first semester is open for everyone. It is the second semester that is really hard to get into. :budgiedance: . However, I'm gonna try my little heart out.

In NZ, you need to do chemistry, biology, physics, maths and English in school, as prerequisites and you must do 5 days of work experience at a vet clinic.

That's amazing! congrats!

I'm currently studying sciences in College and I'm hoping to get a bachelor in University concerning animal sciences and then I'd like to go onto Vet Med and then specialize in the Avian species.

I hope all goes well for you!

eeek! I'm so excited for you!

I can't wait to do the same thing.

I'm not quite sure how the school system works in NZ though, I live in Canada and it's really really really hard to get into Vet Med....

But I'm working hard in CGEP and trying to get the best marks possible!

Goodluck! ;)

Good luck and keep a positive mind and you will succeed.

Never say 'it is too much, too hard, or too tiring'

Just keep at it, and look to the future, and how many lives will be affected by the good work you will be doing.

Cindy

I am finding it challenging at the moment. I have a lot of homework. But the fact that I am finally on the path to vetdom, makes me really wanna do it. :bluebudgie:

Don't forget to share interesting bits of information with us! I wish I hadn't been such a woose at your age - I thought I would faint at the sight of blood! (Laughing out loud). I now have 3 boys, and I'd be permanently unconscious if that was the case!

Well at the moment I'm only learning chemistry and physics and biology to see if I'm good enough to continue. Every vet student has to do it. It is part of the course, but if you don't do well they don't let you continue and you have to start again. So unfortunately I can't let you in on any juicy vet bits just yet, unless you wanna know some chemical formulas, evolution and how to calculate the displacement of a car travelling at 30m/s for 7 seconds. :bluebudgie:

Really? You have to learn that once you're there??

I've already done all that, and that alone isn't enough to get me into vet school.

How old are you? If you don't mind me asking.

Things must be very different from over here.
