Didn't see it on any 'no-no' lists but don't want to chance it until I hear from someone who has done it. Thanks! Link to comment
Guest Lin
I would assume it would be fine, but they might get coloured beaks from it Link to comment
Guest Phoebe
It's fine, they just get purple beaks like they get green beaks from spinach and brocolli. Link to comment

Guest Phoebe
I don't purposely add it but if I am rushed for time and buy prepackaged salad mix, there is some in there and a few times they have gone for it, but if you are worried about it, don't use it, green cabbage is probably the best anyhow. :dbb1: I should probably state that only Monty (my mentally challenged budgie) has eaten it so maybe that is a good indicator, the others have boycotted it. :ausb: And I have just spent 10 minutes doing research, cabbage is apparently not good for your budgie so I stand corrected once again (although I have never purposely added green/red cabbage), Wouldn't you know Monty would go for it!! When I don't have time, won't give them salad mixes containing cabbage. Kinda weird though, I would have thought that it would be okay for them as it is good for us, you learn something new everyday. Guest pixie25
http://www.budgies.org/info/plants.html raw cabbage is in a list of unsafe vegetation. i would not feed any type of cabbage at all as i found several sites supporting the same information. spinach leaves, carrot tops or romaine lettuce are healthy alternatives to use instead Link to comment
