Hello! I recently bought a new budgie, Beaker, to keep my one budgie, Nemo, company after his friend died a year ago. After an adjustment period they have become best buddies. My question is that after Beaker came into his life Nemo went into a big molt and sleeps more often than he used to. He does eat and drink and is chatty and active while awake. Was the big molt and sleeping more often because of the introduction of the new bird? Thanks for your thoughts and advice!

The molt is probably just a coincidence. They happen everyonce in a while, and I, at least, dont know of an instance where it's changed. The sleeping may be because of the molt, or because he's less stressed and happier with the new bird.
