Budgies need a varied diet... I feed seed which has vitamins added, as well as lots of different things- Sometimes gumtree branch or apricot tree branch, sometimes orange, seeding grasses, carrot, corn, peas, spinach, and the list goes on. I have heard that birds need the sun as much as we do so if they have access to some sun bathing that's good for them, just don't leave them out there and cook them. Basically I think it wouldn't hurt to have the supplement.
