Back then this was a thriving community with many experienced and beginner show budgerigar breeders. From my reading of the forum, they have all gone. What happened????? Link to comment

If so it os odd that all the pet budgie people have gone as well. When I get fully into the hobby again I may look at attaching a new forum to my website. Link to comment

In the end it was just Kaz that was the only experienced breeder and she's admin on quite a few Facebook groups now. This place is still a wealth of information but I fear that the owners will shut it down one of these days. Link to comment

Are the Facebook pages Budgerigar related Jimmy??? If so do you know the names of them Link to comment

I don't really wanna advertise them because I want more people to come here lol. There are heaps but I generally stick to the Aussie ones. Exhibition Budgerigars OZ, Australian Exhibition Budgerigars, KAZ is on some others that are for beginners more advice related ones. There's a mutations group... To many lol. They could all just come here. Half the time when someone posts on 1 they post on about 5 others the exact same thing. Link to comment

Or perhaps the forum could have a corresponding Facebook page? There's so much information on this forum, would be a shame for it to be shut down... Link to comment

I've have been breeding on and off for 30 years (work has restricted me on many occasions, all over Australia) I've noticed that those at the pinnacle tend to sell to other states at massive prices to eliminate competition- what the? aren't we supposed to share knowledge, and promote great quality birds to our peers? No wonder no young people are interested, they're priced out even with **** birds and no one seems to want to help them out- this shows me that all the mission statements from clubs (now days) do not ring true! I find this very disappointing, those at the top will stay there, those with money to spare will be okay, those trying to get the bug of breeding a half decent bird will be lost in oblivion. Anyway I've now stated my case, I live in hope that everyone lifts their game and promotes the fancy with a bit more respect for those less fortunate than ourselves 90 Link to comment
