I can't decide on what to do. Link to comment

Will it be in a aviary with several pairs (colony breeding) or will you be putting them into breeding cabinets? If you are cabinet breeding you have the choice of picking certain pairs to produce certain colors, or you could allow birds to pick there own partners in the aviary and then move them to a cabinet. There's two pairs that I want to set myself and I was thinking I'll put them in a breeding cabinet but then the rest of the birds I have no preference and there's no foreseeable problems with any combination they could make so I thought just leave them all together to pair up and breed. They live in a 2ft x 3ft x 4.5f5 indoor aviary cage and I was going to put nest boxes along the rear wall. Link to comment

If you do go on to colony you will need to have at least double the amount of boxes than pairs, it is also advised to have all boxes at the same height. how many pairs do you plan on breeding in the aviary? I was going to put my preferred pairs in breeding cabinets which would leave two cocks and whichever hens they chose in the aviary to colony breed. Not sure if two pairs and a spare are really a colony though lol Link to comment

The rest are from the beginning to middle of September. I won't be putting next boxes in until September at least. Link to comment

Aegon and Asha are siblings. I plan to put Aegon with Amara to keep those two from mating with relatives. I also want to put Hugo and Aurora just as a personal preference. I'm not fussed with the rest. They can do as they please. Link to comment
