I have a product from a local pet shop that doesn't seem to be working, it will get rid of the mites for a bit but they just keep coming back. I have cleaned all the wood and cage with disinfectant. It was just a cheap little bottle because i didn't know what was the best product and just quickly went out and bought one before it got to bad. What would the best product for scaly mites be and what price am i looking at paying? Thanks. Link to comment

I pay around $8.00 for a small bottle, I have 50 odd birds and that's enough for several times a year. One drop behind head, using an eye dropper every 3 mths. is my method. It's supposed to get rid of a lot of worms e.g. air sac mites etc also scaly face mites. If you treat it, keep it isolated from others so you can keep check. If it doesn't seem to be clearing repeat about 2 weeks later.(so I was advised) If you have other birds, that haven't been treated and they have all been caged together I'd do the lot, once even if they don't show any scale. Other may have more advice for you. Link to comment

A phone call to your local vet should tell you. Link to comment
