While I was looking at the budgies they had I noticed in the corner was a small baby budgie,he looked very sick and fluffed up,I also noticed he had a very messy vent,I asked the owner about the sick budgie and got a very rude reply, she said that I dont know what I am talking about and that hes perfectly fine and only fluffed up with messy vent as hes still a baby. I cant stop thinking about the poor little fella out there in the cold Link to comment

Its designed to shut you up so noone overhears the conversation. I have experienced such things ( Picton ) and have never set foot in that door ever again due to rudeness and lack of action for their birds. :( Link to comment

That just teaches the store that sick budgies sell better than healthy ones. Link to comment

There was puppies in a petshop recently ...........only 3-4 wks old and the staff were telling customers they were 7-8 wks old. RSPCA wouldnt respond and said it was a commerce problem. They pups were taken into rescue by concerned citizens. They had bellies full of worms so bad they couldnt poop them out. Link to comment

It's kinda funny in a very sad and sick way, the City farmers only a 5 minute bike ride from where I live, stocks perfectly good birds (although they don't really sell many, they're just handtamed and usually only two or three in the shop at any given time)... in fact, they're likely to never get sick in the shop! Across the road, there is a XXXX (I think it's an offbrancher of City farmers?) and their birds are in terrible condition! Not once have I seen a clean cage, in fact, not once have I see a spot in the cage that's not covered in poop! Their birds are likely to die in a week of the buyer buying them The only reason I go to XXXX is for the bird toys, because they have a massive section for bird toys Edited June 24, 2012 by **KAZ** removed name due to negative connotations expressed Link to comment

Very disappointed to hear that. I can't cop any form of animal / bird cruelty. These poor creatures can't fend for themselves. How sad it all is. Link to comment
