I picked up my first show budgies today. I am hoping they have some good qualities for breeding. Please let me know what you think :)

They look like very nice quality birds to start off with for sure.

They have nice masks and spots and their shoulders look not bad either.

Would be better to see them in the show cage to see the length of the birds also.

Where did you purchase these birds from?

Thanks Super Spangle.

I bought them from a breeder in Campbelltown. I tried to pick ones I thought were okay because all I have been doing is reading up on types, this was my first time to see show birds up close. He didn't have many left and the best ones were sold.

Don't know any pointers on show birds Nadene but they look lovely, especially the spangle. Good luck with them, hope they turn out some great chicks for you. :P

Thank you Robyn, the spangle was the one I originally went to buy but then I liked the hen (she does look better in real life and without the blood) and he gave me the other two.

I hope all is well with your beautiful birds.

Wow, kind of breeder to give you a couple of starters. Mine are going great (only pet type) but seems like I've bred nearly all Cock birds !! Just when I wanted a few more hens. I have some new chicks hatching in 2nd round. Wasn't going to go another round as it seemed to be getting too cold but they have been fine. So far.
