So first my mother inlaw made me move my budgie who is in quarantine from our double carport to the tin shed. Second my inlaws arrived last night at 9:30pm stating my house isn't clean and needs a lot of work. I was then ordered around till 1am cleaning my house to their standards as in (OCD perfect). Third I was woken up at 7:30am today to drive them to the grocery store to buy ingredient for my fiancee's bday lunch. Shops don't open till 8:30am. Forth I was ordered around all day in my own kitchen when I was trying to cook and prepare lunch. When I say ordered I mean told to do something told I'm not doing it right then had it demonstrated how to do it and told to do it properly. Yet I'm the one who has completed multiple hospitality tafe courses, so I know how to cut salad and meat, especially when I came up with the menu. Fifth for dinner I said we are having leftovers I placed out all leftovers. I then said "I'm not hungry right now so I'm going to feed my budgies then I will be back for dinner." When I returned all the potato salad was gone, all the ceasar salad was gone, only a small amount of garden salad was left, all the chicken was gone, 4 small pieces of minute steak were left, one sausage and all the onion was gone. My fiancee and I both had to share this small amount of food that all fit on one dinner plate and not even a full dinner plate. Just to top the weekend off all my personal hygiene products have been moved. Does anyone else have problem inlaws? How do you deal with them? I feel alot better now that I have vented to you guys. If you made it this far thanks for reading and please give your opinion on what I should do. Kaitlyn Link to comment

If I were you I would set a few rules before the big day. If it's this bad now what will it be like then. Set up a united front with fiancee and say what happens in your home is your business (which will show which side of the fence fiancee is going to sit as well). When visiting them you go by their rules, same applies in yours. Stand up for yourself now or you will be forever bossed around. my thoughts anyway. Link to comment

The final issue is that David's (my fiancee) family never tell each other how they really feel. So when I do turn around and say something I get pinned as the bad guy for being too negative. His whole family I one big puppet show with the older people just telling the younger ones what to do. It is just so annoying. Does anyone else have problem In-laws? How do you deal with them? I'd love some advise. Link to comment

I think moving in to THEIR house may cause problems, hence the it's not clean enough etc. If possible I think I'd try to find another house. That way they can disapprove if they like (of the housekeeping) but would have no kickback. Link to comment
