My Budgies

Recommended Posts

Hello,

These are some photos of my budgies. Please tell me their type (Spangle, Pied etc) and how do they look. I really need a good grasp on their classification.

By The Way sorry for the low quality images.

Thank you for all your help guys.

Thank you for your response, I really appreciate it. However I am more confused now. Someone on another forum told me the following classifications :

Picture 1 is a Dilute

Picture 2 is a Skyblue Cinnamon

Picture 3 is a Gray-Green Opaline

Picture 4 is a Light Green Opaline

Pictures 5 & 6 are Yellowface Type 1 Cobalt

Picture 7 is a Violet Greywing.

Also, I will be posting more pictures later today and would appreciate your reply on them too.

Thank you for your response, I really appreciate it. However I am more confused now. Someone on another forum told me the following classifications :

Picture 1 is a Dilute If it is, you can't see it from this photo.

Picture 2 is a Skyblue Cinnamon Doesn't look cinnamon.

Picture 3 is a Gray-Green Opaline As Nev said, yf, not green

Picture 4 is a Light Green Opaline If we could see the back, we could find out if this is true.

Pictures 5 & 6 are Yellowface Type 1 Cobalt This is what Neville said for Picture 5. But for Picture 6, no.

Picture 7 is a Violet Greywing. Not even remotely greywing.

Also, I will be posting more pictures later today and would appreciate your reply on them too.

I'd say the person who told you those is wrong. :D Did they base that on these same pictures, or were they looking at something different than what is here?

Better pictures that are not blurry or overexposed, and showing each bird's front and back would help a lot.

Also, as you are going to add more birds to the lot, numbering (or naming) each one will help make it less confusing, so we don't get them mixed up.

Thank you for your answer dear, much appreciated :). I have posted the same pictures on Yahoo answer and that was the answer I got from one person. Well I guess, he didn't know much about budgies like me

Well here are the latest pictures that I took today. Please classify them also. I really hope the quality of image is sufficient enough to see them clearly.

1/ Yellow face cobalt male (could be violet)

2/ Yellow face grey & yellow face opaline grey (Theyellow face type is probably M2)

3/ Mauve hen

4/ Yellow face opaline cobalt male (the yellow face type looks like mutant 1 but it could be double factor M2)

5/ Normal sky blue

6/ Yellow face cobalt male – (the yellow face type is eitherM2 or golden face)

7/ Dominant pied cobalt (The pied is probably double factor)

8/ Opaline greywing green

9/ Left - Dilute blue. Right – dilute green

10/ Albino female

11/ Opaline cobalt female

12/ Dilute green

13/ Yellow face cobalt

14/ Yellow face cobalt – looks darker than the bird abovebut I think it's the photo quality

15/ Two opaline greywings

16/ Greywing sky blue

17/ Yellow face opaline clearwing female. (Rainbow) Although the wing markings are quite dark the bright cheek patches and body colour show that it's mutation is clearwing
