They only looked young under 6months. Is Orange a new colour or is it called gold but looks abit Orange? Link to comment

Most show breeders dont sell this young. Yeah. Are they young 'cause the Pet Shop says they are? I would check the date on the ring if I were you. In fact they could be adult Pet Shop birds masquerading as young show budgies Either way you have to ask yourself why a breeder would be shipping his birds down to the pet shop before their first moult. Just does not make sense. I think more information is required. Edited November 11, 2011 by renee Link to comment

Was bred from a pair of feeders, and I can definitely tell that they wont make the grade. I have just started selling the cock birds too on Gumtree with free delivery to my local area, that way they don't come to my place. Sold one for $40 today which is a lot more than I would get for it after it has eaten 8-12 months worth of seed. If they show a little bit I will keep them and let them moult out, if they are not good enough they go. I always put down pretty birds for feeders and if I don't need them to be feeders I let them raise a round and flog the chicks for seed money. Link to comment

Full black eyes, stripes still on their head right down to their cede, plus they were very small. I believe they are just pet type I was just curious about the ring and if it was the gold, like I said it just looked very Orange. I was actually happy with the pet store they told me they were only 6-8weeks which looked to be right and they said they were only pet quality. I'm glad they seem to be telling the truth. The bird were also being kept in good conditions :-) Link to comment

I always put down some feeders for crappy birds , so I can flog them for seed money but not this year, maybe a couple over all. Seems I only have about 40 babies I am keeping them to see how they moult out because most of my birds are late bloomers. Link to comment
