I took the kids out yesterday as it was a nice day, and came home to find my aviary and quarantine cages had been broken into. I am gutted as I had recently purchased a gorgeous DF Violet peachface, has been taken, along with an aqua mask lovebird and 4 of my show budgies. All my other show budgies, my masked lovebirds, peachface lovebird and quails are all still there. I had recently replaced the lock on the aviary with a new one and it's been busted apart. I am so so shattered. The violet peachface was hand tame and was starting to sit on my finger and eat out of my hand These were the birds taken Aqua blue masked lovebird Dark Factor Violet Peachface/edge dilute/turquoise/cinnamon violet/DDF Violet Yellow Face Sky Violet Opaline Spangle Hen Sky Opaline Spangle Cock Violet Normal Cock Grey Green Normal Cock No strangers have been let into the back yard and no birds were being sold. Padlock had been busted on the aviary which housed the budgies. The lovebirds were in two separate quarantine cages - one housing masked lovebirds, the other housing peachface and only one bird from each quarantine cage was taken. I hope that whoever has them now looks after them like they deserve, but I have my wishful thinking hat on that they will come back to me. If anyone happens to hear anything, please let me know, thank you. Link to comment https://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?/topic/31099-stolen/

HUGS. I know there are bird thieves in Perth, we've all heard the stories and know at least someone who has had the misfortune but it hurts every time I hear of another incident. From what you have described I'm afraid you may need to look closer to home ..... neighbours, friends of neighbours, friends of friends and family. How about contacting your local Pet Shops and giving them a description of the stolen birds? I hope against hope they are returned to you. Note Amy had a lock on the aviary but it was smashed off. If someone wants to get in they will. If they have the time and a pair of cutters they will just open the mesh. That is absolutely terrible amy im sorry to hear about that. might need to look into getting a lock on my aviary even though idont have many birds. I have shared some facts with Amy via facebook about a bird thief in Perth. Sad is.........Amy feeling like she should give up over this heartbreak.
