I bet they (the critics) haven't won 6 classes at the Nationals or achieved even a fraction of what Ross has! You would not have found a better offering of lacewings, cleawings, greywings or lutinos. The cinnamons were very strong (I purchased 2) and there were some quality greens. A lot of Victoria's top breeders were there bidding and buying, not to mention the interstate visitors. Only 9 of Ross's birds were kept back to show on his behalf at the Young Bird Shield and these will sell at our (Melton) auction. An average of $308, a gross of over $70k and a top of $3100 pretty much says it all doesn't it? PT Link to comment

They said they couldn't believe it that bidding starting at $500. with lacewings, they said every top breeder in Vic was there buying so that says a lot. They bought a couple of lutinos but the one he wanted went for over a thousand. So it sounded like it was a top auction. Oh my friends had a great day out they said very enjoyable. I wished that I didn't have to work because I would of went to, but wouldn't of enough money to buy what I wanted. Link to comment

I'm happy for his family that the birds made good money. People in the know would not fork out big dollars for birds unless they where exceptional. The prices they sold for speak for them selfs.
