Hi I have two budgies breeding at the moment and they have six eggs in incubation

One I am sure is lutino but the other I don't know. Both were bought from the Pet Shop

so I don't know their backgrounds

here is a photo of the hen...

and the cock...

DSC01521.jpg Both are over a year old now, but the pictures are of when they were much younger

I am happily anticipating the arrival of the first hatchling in a couple of days but I'd love to hear what they may look like!

unless your hen is not split to blue in which you will get all normals in green

unless the lutino is masking something eg spangle or dom pied whom knows even a rec gene that the dad my also carry

rally you wont know intill they feather

but you will get all cocks only being split for lutino and as they will be split blue that gives a chance of the male chicks to breed albino in future if put to a blue based bird :}

thats okay were here to learn all of us :}

a recessive gene is a hide gene a none visual genetic that the bird holds but unless the other partner also holds this gene it will possibly go un noticed for months even years

it is still possibly passed on to the off spring so that their is a chance that you will get some chicks with the gene even if you are not aware its their

as its not visual this is then referred to as a split

sex linked is another thing altogether :}

hope that made bit of sence

How old are they?

The cock looks to be 4-6 months, and the hen under a year.
