She was a cheapie really, nice hen but not huge "wow" factor. I put her with a sky blue cock I bred last year, who is the brother to my sky who took out best blue in his show a couple of months back. She laid four eggs and all looked fertile. Just four, no more. Out of those four eggs only one hatched. Dom pied is one of my "new things". You know how you go through fads of colours that you like, well Dom Pied is my latest. I was really hoping for at least one dom pied from this pair and then thought my odds would be pretty slim, being that only one chick hatched. Well this is their one and only chick (they fostered fallow babies and were great parents though) Link to comment

The I see another one and say, 'oh its a rec pied.' And everyone says its a dom pied. Now I'm looking at this bird and the second I saw it I thought, Oh its a Dom Pied Spangle... so... Sunnie... sorry but its a Rec Pied Opaline!! No but in all seriousness... I think I can see what I think are Dom Pied markings on its front... Link to comment

Spangles have head spots or head patches too. Need photos of the rest of the bird. If you are basing the dom pied part on the head spot only.....thats not enough to go on as spangles have them too. The first pics showed clearly it was a Pied. why not its the dad was skyblue mum was grey green she could have been dd factor Sky Blue = no dark factor (0-df), green series is Light Green. Dark Grey Green = one dark factor (1-df), blue series is Cobalt. Olive Grey Green = two dark factors (2-df),blue series is Mauve. So 0-df X 1-df = 50% 0-df or 50% 1-df OR 0-df X 2-df = 100% 1-df The Grey Green is split for Blue and single factor Grey as it produced a Grey when paired to a Sky Blue. Check the Cheek patches.
