Wow, what beautiful birds!!!! But this one is my definate favourite, it's exactly what I hope to breed! Am I right in thinking most of the other budgies have violet factor? I am going to a breeders house today to look at a pair for sale, the cock is a single factor cobalt violet, and the hen is a cobalt dominant pied. He is asking $200 for the pair, little expensive I thought, but I suppose you you get what you pay for.

make sure you see mum dad and babys they may of had and unkles and if any are not so nice looking know its in their genetics and look else where sounds like they making you pay for the colour

but i could be wrong coluld have great blood lines just be careful your not buying a colour look at the whole bird

pretend its green if you still love then go for it

is pricey depending whos stud of course want to be from a champion breeder

I agree be careful, that is alot of money to pay out. We got lucky and got Kramer for 15 dollars and would not sell him for any amount of money. He is our first one and our official mascot lol.

Interesting how the photo's never show violet properly. The cock bird is a stunning deep purple colour which really is not well shown here.

Violets show best in pictures when they are standing next to their non violet counterparts. Eg violet cobalt standing next to cobalt, violet sky's next to normal sky's. Etc etc etc.

Hey Budgie_Smuggler, you have some beautiful violets!! Marg is in fantastic condition!!

Saw this thread reactivated, and since I'm new there, thought I'd post up a couple pictures of my greywing, Milton :)

He's a good boy, posing for his photo
