If it's just feet you could maybe keep check for it progressing further up his legs's e.g. If he's o.k. otherwise, can he rest on a wider perch/shelf maybe? If he still fly's he would get to know where it was safe to land, when he can't grip. Once infection is ruled out that is. Link to comment

Just when I was about to put him out of his misery he started to show dramatic and rapid improvement. He lives at my partners parents place now and is fine aprt from the fact that his feet curl inwards slightly. My Lori had Clenched Claw Syndrome..... common in Lorikeets from the Sydney area. I haven't heard of it happening to other birds though. Good luck with your boy. Link to comment

The vet has seen the bird. He says it does not appear to be gout as he hasnt developed white nodules nor is the feet swollen. No nerve damage as there is feeling in the feet and everything else works so nerve damage is discounted. Feet are "frozen" as high as the hock area. Diagnosis at this stage is possible septic arthritis which may or may not respond to antibiotics and anti inflammatories. Vet says a week will tell the story but has given me enough meds for two weeks. One drop baytril to the beak twice a day and one drop antiinflammatory by beak twice a day also. Also has to have physio.....pedalling the legs from the hips like bicycle riding and gentle movement of the toes. Link to comment

She took him to the vet and was told that often tumours cause this. But I am sure that your vet would know for sure after seeing the bird. Goodluck, there is nothing worst when one of your pets are sick. It would be much easier of they could just tell us. Link to comment

One of Ken Seagrott's greywing dilute line. Ken keep all his progeny. Might have to use A.I. on him.I am by far no expert, but a friend of mine had something similar happen to her bird. Just because I am a breeder for show budgies does not mean I would euthenase him the second he outlived his usefulness to me as a breeder. In fact I never got to use him at all and he cost me over $400. The fact I sought vet care indicates what he means to me...and thats not just about dollar value. I just need to say that ........when you asked about what I would do with him...............were you thinking I would euthenase him ? Link to comment
