He is a nice big bird and had been benched at a show but was DQF for no iris ring. I would like to breed with him but I'm worried that his siblings may be no good if they also have no iris ring. Can he still be useful to my breeding? I really hope so....... I don't have any pics at the moment as my camera is playing up. Cheers Link to comment

What do you know of his parents ? I don't no anything about the parents, but I'm sure I could find out. I didn't pay much for him and I was told that if he had an iris ring he would not be for sale. If I was only breeding pet birds I wouldn't be worried, but he is to nice to ignore. Link to comment

Thanks Yes, I would try that and then wait and see how the chicks turn out. I agree with Kaz that you will only really know whether it is a fluke or an inherited trait through your breeding results.
