I read something about how they have darker markings than a cinnamon wing, is this true? I came across a picture on another forum and it looked too dark to be cinnamon, though that could be due to lighting. Link to comment

It is darker than a Cinnamon. They are born with RED eyes just like Inos but as they get older they do darken. They never develop a full iris ring but if you look you will see it is there just not white, more a brownish colour. My signature has a picture of a one day old Brownwing. Note the RED eye. Here are two other pics but they are not really big as these came from thumbnails of the orignal pics which have since been eaten by the cyber monster. This is of the orignal bird I obtained. A Brownwing Grey. This is a comparison picture so you can see the difference between the baby birds once they begin to feather up. The one to the left is the Brownwing and the other is a Cinnamon. Hope this helps you Ratzy. Link to comment

Im in Sydney with the St George budgerigar society club, and as far as we are aware i am the only one with them over here or maybe anywhere but unfortunantely i am down to my last pair,, a visual grey hen that cant get to do anything and a split green cock Warren Wilson and i were speaking on the weekend and he said there was some in WA but is unaware of what happened to them. I also seen that you bred them. Where are you located? Brings me to my point do you know who may have them or know the where abouts of some where i may be able to get in touch with them. I have a standard for them also. Thanks Craig 0410116181 Link to comment

The Brownwing mutation is brownish/grey in color. His eyes are plum-eyed, like red, but not red. The male cere is blue, but may mix with the female when young. The patterns look more like fallow than cinnamon. Here I leave a picture of a baby boy.😊 Link to comment
