the oldest chick im going to ring tomorrow so

i think the oldest is opaline so a hen

unless dad is split which i dont know as he was a pet shop buy for my pet line

 

if hes not split and its the only opaline then i found my special chick as its dad was opaline dom pied grey

mum was grey cinnamon

silly me put in this nest thinking i would be able to know what chick it was

then relized that it may turn out blue so i keep forgetting grey to grey doesnt mean you will end up with all greys

 

well time will tell

it may sound silly but they listen and they do tell you when enoughs enough and i listen as chicks may get to cold dad and mum knows best so ..their in charge

i also had a chick born easter day while i was not home

i think mum is happy with the 4 she has and mustn't have herd it calling for food

i found it dead when i got home mabe if i was home before dark i could have saved by fostering it

but i fostered remanding chicks so...

and will need to ring fourth chick tomorrow as their feet are so stumpy

i think the first chick is defenently from my grey dom pied cock and cin hen as its feet are thiner and legs much longer

not concistent with other chicks

but still will need to see

okay with weather being so crappy i havent been taking pics as dont want birds to get chill

the first one i think is grey so

Is that an actual anti-plucking product or just a nasty tasting spray? I have a plucker sitting on eggs that is a great layer/feeder/breeder but she plucks when the pins start to turn to feathers so i usually move her out and let the cock finish feeding to prevent her even starting the plucking process. Would love to see if there was a way to stop her plucking?

you take chicks out when down gets plucked

and spray them you have to let dry a bit so chicks dont get chill

i only sprayed it ones this did the job
