madchen 0
Does anyone know of an avian vet in Brisbane open Sundays? I'm not sure my budgie is well and want a plan for tomorrow in case he wakes up sick...
**KAZ** 0
One way to find out http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....showtopic=21279 find the vet nearest you and phone. All vets I know have an answering machine or answering service stating their emergency hours or vets emergency number. At least it will be peace of mind if you phone tonight and get your answer ready for whatever tomorrow brings. Good luck. Edited February 27, 2010 by KAZ
Catherine 0
Yes, you can get help at a clinic called 'Pet Emergency'. It is in Albany Creek. The numbers are 3359 0777 and 3359 5333. They are not avian specialists but I know for a fact that they phone an avian vet when they are not sure what to do. I visited once on Christmas Day. On another occasion, they phoned an avian vet after hours. He phoned me and then prescribed a medication via a nearby clinic which dispensed it to me.
madchen 0
Thank you so much for your replies last night. Ash seems to be his chipper old self this morning so fortunately no vet is needed this time. Will definitely keep the place at Albany Creek in mind though, great tip that one! Catherine 0
I forgot to mention - 'Pet Emergency' never closes. They charge regular, reasonable vet fees and then add a special fee for whatever strange hour or public holiday it is.

Hi There is a great bird vet at Wilston Vet ph 3357 3882 called Dr Amisha. but they are only open mon- sat(but all day sat). She is very gentle and also inexpensive as she is not a bird specialist as such....just has a special interest in birds, so you are not paying specialists fees.
