You may know we have a cat or two or three at home..........

well we have four. Three siamese of Kens and my Birman Ruskie.

There has always been a type of cat I wanted for myself besides my Birman Ruskie, and I finally got one.

She is a DEVON REX and her colour is called Black Smoke. I inquired after her recently as she was the type, sex and colour I would have wanted. Once I heard her name I was sure she belonged with us.

Her name is MORTICIA like off the ADDAMS FAMILY. She is 16 weeks old and we collect her in about a week.

Some people with allergies to normal-coated cats can live with Devon's, because they have little or no guard hair and shed very little. However, there are still a percentage of allergy sufferers who cannot live with a Devon. The Devon Rex is very friendly, lively, affectionate, playful, intelligent, mischievous, impish, enterprising, active, inquisitive and extrovert. This breed is known to have several dog-like qualities; it retrieves; it follows its owner and wags its tail when pleased. The Devon Rex is considered a rare breed. There are not very many breeders or kittens available compared to some of the older, more established breeds.

Devon's are addictive.... You can't just have one. Some people, who are allergic to "normal" cats, can live with a Devon or Cornish Rex without any problems. They are not allergy-free cats, especially since people can be allergic to different things such as saliva and dander hair. Because of their different coat, they shed minimal amounts of hair compared to other breeds and cause little or no problems to some allergy sufferers.

That now means we have five cats :o

I think we will stop at five :o

Terrific.......they are very unusual arent they. They are described as something doglike and also a monkey in a cat suit :P Not loud talkers like siamese ( thank goodness ). I am looking forward to Mortisha arriving.

Thankyou for sharing Macka :D

Oh she is beautiful Kaz! I love them, they are the most affectionate little cats.

My best friend has two Cornish Rex cats, they're brothers - they remind me of fluffy apricot marshmellows  and are the best little cats. It's funny, you wouldn't think they're brothers as Felix is short haired and Oscar is long haired - well the longest you can get on a Rex hahaha

Yes they do have more fur but they still have that love and affection that comes with the Rex variety of cat.

Much much better temperament than my little tabby who has a bit of a fetish for skin and ankles hahahah I love her dearly she's been my best friend for 7 years now and still acts like the scatty little kitten I brought home.

So Burmese are "talkers" too huh :D Siamese are a pain when they have something to grizzle about. Khan is the worst.........he thinks anytime we walk in the house with shopping bags we have food just for him.........he will carry on like a pork chop :D

Tish arrives tomorrow afternoon.

We just had our older siamese cat to the vets. He went missing for 6 days and finally came home ( we thought he'd been killed ). He was acting strangely so I decided to take him to the vet for a checkup...in particular his eyesight. Vets diagnosis is he's BLIND. His irises wont retract or dilate at all...not affected by light shone in his eyes. Explains a lot...like how he went missing for 6 days, and how he gets frightened easily by the other cats going past him and many other weird things he does.

Oh well, at least if he's blind he wont notice the new cat  :raincloud:

Tish aka morticia has got all the boys in the house following her around and playing. Never before has such a spark of life and fun and play been in the house for these cats. The boys, although hesitant at first are in awe of her and follow her everywhere. Playtime is hillarious fun. She has a devoted group of fans and is the most personable cat I have ever owned
