yes dave i will post some pics of her

but right now im very sad as

fred has passed

she was very thin today and although doing great personality wize

i was very concerned with her food storage capability she seemed to eat **** and be empty

she didnt just die due to lack of nutrition but due to my daughters love :) you see my daughters 8 and she thought fred needed to learn to fly

so after i fed him tonight as she always did she took her out side to sit with her and she would do this while she played

she knew you had to be careful holding fred with her tiny ribs and all

but she didnt think anything of jumping on the trampoline with her

i came out side to close aviary down and almost had a fit here she was jumping on the trampoline fred clasped in her hands i told her to get off amediatly with her that she couldnt fly due to her not having feathers in her wings that she could fly one day if we take good care with some luck

but no longer did i turn around and she had given her a tiny head start and slightly tossed her into the air

i almost killed myself to mark her in mid flight but i was so far away poor fred landed thud bang on to a blue stone rock

she seemed okay shaken but okay

i was like why did you do that for

and she said she just wanted him to beable to fly so she could have friends

their was no point getting mad my daughter didnt understand what she had done and wanted fred to fit in with the other birds

she has been crying all night

one hour latter fred pooed blood a big pile not just a bit

he had gotten internal injurys

she started shaking and very soon after passed away

:D

my daughter is beside her self

i explained to her that without her he would have died days ago that we all make mistakes about things she finnaly fell asleep with a wet pillow

we are going to give fred a memorial service tomorrow

some pics from yesterday

Ohhhh GB so very sorry to hear about poor little Fred. :( You persevered with her so fantastically and she definitely would have died days ago without your love, care and help. :)

:rip: Little one

it was a sad morning to day and the skys opened up with agreement

fred will be laying to rest my my daughters fairy garden we made

it sits just next to the flight

he is getting his own little cross made up for him

sinead was a bit sad as she thought god was mad at her for freds ingery

(as we had a massive storm lightning thunder the works ) i told here that no thats not it god was crying as he realized how much she loved fred and that he was upset he had to take him home )

my daughter is very religious and made me put her in a catholic school :) but thats what she wants so i support her

it is hard as im not a stricken believer and i really dont know what to say to her when she talks about god but i guess her not having a father she turned to him as he is suppose to be everyone's father

anyways so now she is feeling better as god cryed also :rip:

i will get a picture of freds resting place once shes made his head stone and cross

thank you all for your words

she really was a sweet thing but she was very unwell her stomic was sort of in the wrong place and when you feed her it swelled up really deformed looking she resembled a hunch back when she was feed for till the food was gone

apart from that she was healthy

very skinny though

all things happen for a reason we were getting very attached to her and it would have been worse if she was with us for a long time then died as i to would be crying my eyes out if that was the case

i woke up today put the kettle on ....no chirping no putter of feet then i remembered she was gone :( i dont like to make freinds of the birds and normally would have let nature take its course something told me to keep this one going so she was here for a reason maybe just to teach my daughter her sad little lesson that sometimes you can love something so much and regardless of wanting to help it and make it fit in we are all born different and in our own time we learn things as we need and a tiny push can actually sometimes be to much ...life is something we do in our own pace not in the pace others want us to as some times someones small push can be very departmental to our own slow but sure development :(

Really sorry G.B., your little daughter must be a lovely little soul to care so much. It will help her to understand the up's and down's of life though. There will surely be another little bird or animal for her to care for soon. Lots of hugs to all. :)

thank you everyone

she did learn from this also i did state to her that no more birds are to be specially treated regardless of how cute they are as its not for their best interest really

we only try to support and feed these little ones but their Peronts stop feeding them for reasons

its different if mum dies or something like that but when its nature taking its course its better left that way :)

im thinking of getting my daughter a gosling to raise :rip:

Yeah, get her something to cheer her up. If you have an incubater you could get some eggs and watch them hatch, then raise them.

Oh GB, How sad to hear about Fred, she was such a fighter, and so very loved. Life's lessons can be so hard for any of us, most especially for kids, as they don't always have the comprehension, but you did an outstanding job explaining it all to her.

I have that fantastic memory of how the women at the chemist were so shocked, when you pulled Fred out of your pocket to explain about the syringe, and how her little head was poking out of your pocket in the car. I am sure you both have lots of these kinds of memories, and no doubt these will help ease the sadness you are both now feeling.

Hugs...Robyn
