I don't think it is a good idea to discuss God in this forum.

We should love each other and respect eachother's point of view.

If we were created by a big bang or we had a common gene with monkeys or God created us, this makes no differences as no one would be able to claim for sure what is the fact.

We love budgies, so please let us know each other as budgie lover.

If I say people who belive in God are laymans, then I think it is not necessery.

Or If I say people who do not belive in God are laymans, it is also NOT necessery.

LET'S LOVE AND RESPECT EACH OTHER.

It's amazing how a topic on budgies turned into, well, this...

I'm not gonna comment on what my beliefs are, but agree to disagree and settle this.

Anyway, I've seen a google website on budgie evolution. I will have to try and find it for you!

I think a few great minds should get together and solve this for us.Just a few people like Barbara McClintock could brainstorm and get back to us on it. There was some theory about them being baby dinosaurs. I didn't quite follow that, it was a bit complex to understand.

The link between birds and dinosaurs has been explored elsewhere. I am interested in the origins of the Budgerigar, Australian Parrots and when parrots seperated from other seedeating birds.

The Budgerigar appears to share a common ancestor with lorikeets. Here is a phylogram, look for Melopsittacus undulatus:

Here is a quote from the same article on the origins of parrots.

Taken together, our results support a Cretaceous origin of Psittaciformes in Gondwana...

The ancestors of parrots are currently thought to have been a generalised tree dwelling species of bird. One living parrot species, the Vasa parrot, still has some primative features.

The Australasian part of Gondwana seems to have been the ancestral home of early parrot species.
