I have a opaline hen paired with a spangle, i am not sure if he is carrying opaline but i am wondering if any of the chicks are looking like opalines.

okay

the second chick has grey down

but thats not to say im corect it is a picture after all

and chick could be in shadowing but looks grey to me

first chick looks blue

third looks grey

both look spangle as the tail feathers the main two are white

fourth also looking spangled

im no expert though so

B)

oh second chick looks normal not spangled as wing is dark but again a guess it is behind others :)

the key to pick opaline is the white down feathers, it is easier to see when they are younger than this, when the down is just starting to appear as they wings will have dark spots on them however the body will still look all pink.

I agree with GB first, third and fourth opaline spangles

What a great illustration! I never understood how you guys could tell the spangles at this stage, but those two main tail feathers look very clear to me. :D

I think all 4 are spangles and the 2nd one in is not opaline.

The reason i say spangle without being able to see the tail pins is that the wing pattern is very similar to the others.
