I have lost track of a chick...What i mean to say is i have a chick in a foster nest that can have come from one of three possible sources. It was added as an egg, and its likely I added three different eggs. I had some notes on cards on the cages and some of the budgies ate theirs

It could be from a found egg from a grey green spangle and a violet clearwing accidental mating.

It could also be from my greywing to dilute pairing.

Or from a grey green spangle hen to a green dominant pied....accidental mating.

Here are some pictures and maybe you experts can work it out because I sure cant :D

I'm afraid I can't even begin to offer an answer to your question but I just wanted to comment on what an absolutely gorgeous bird this is! Such awesome markings and colours....and the greatest eyes I've seen on a bird. Seems like a little ham for the camera too, eh?

It looks like a cinnamon Hen from the photo. Any possibility the Dad is split cinny? If my eyes don't decieve me  This may eliminate some pairs.

Interesting, I think the wing markings look more Greywing Spangle .... even Clearwing may be an option - have to wait until his first moult to be certain!

The bird looks at this stage to be a Spangle Greywing Dark Green. So you need to look at one parent having Spangle at least.

If it is a grey wing it would have to be a Full Body because a simple greywing the body color and the cheek patches are too bright for that.

It looks like a Dark Green Full body Greywing that is my personal opinion. -

grey green spangle and a violet clearwing accidental mating. - for these parents both parents would need to carry 1 dark gene. IF this is a Full Body the Spangle would carry the Dilute gene and the Violet has the Clearwing which would create this mutation, I am leaning toward this pair being the parents if my answer is correct Dark Green Full Body Greywing.

It could also be from my greywing to dilute pairing. - if it is a Spangle that that eliminates these parents

Or from a grey green spangle hen to a green dominant pied....accidental mating - The green dominant pied does it carry 1 dark factor if so it could be these parents and 1 parent would need to carry clearwing and the other greywing to create a Full Body which is possible the the chances I would think that pair 1 has a better shot being the parents.

So what are YOUR final thoughts here Kaz? It is a hard one.

I want to know about Splat's confused one as well now.

It is funny as people post genetic guessing games on here, but this is the real thing.

dilute can not be split because it is recessive to greywing but greywing can be split for dilute

Greywing (not split) x dilute then you would have all greywings not full body greywings

Greywing that is split to dilute x dilute you would have 50% greywing and 50% dilute

Again this chick is not a greywing because there should be around a 50% dilutation or a dilute because there should be around aan 80% dilutaton

So this pair can't be the parents

Because of the body color I lean toward the Full body Greywing because you can see the greywing markings
