Greywings

Recommended Posts

they look great.

I have given it some thought, and I do prefer the blue greywings - still

Those babies are split blue so more blue ones will come eventually :P

I have a strong feeling this greywing mother wants another clutch. Two babies still in the nestbox. As they are in a bank of three horizontal cages I wish to disassemble ( and they are the last inhabitants ) AND it would be her third clutch, it wont be happening.

What to do. Move them all to another cage with babies on the floor of the cage for dad to feed them, maybe Mum in a rest cage ? :D Decisions, decisions.

The youngest greywing chick is going to be the better chick based on "feather" from what I can see.

All rung budgies are eligible for Nationals. Although the breeder could have to be a member of a recognized Club ... not sure about that. :D

However, if you mean this year's nationals the answer is no. Because even though the Blue ring date started on September 1 2009, the rings read 2010! :D

So, this May 2010 only Red rungers are eligible (ie. birds rung between 1.01.2009-31.08.2009) AND next May 2011 Blue rungers are eligible (ie. birds rung between 1.09.2009-31.08.2010). :grouphug:

Despite a very rough night in the flights last night............all birds were flying about madly into walls and mesh as something had frightened them......the greywing babies are coping very well.

Breeder has to be a member of a club that is affiliated with their state or zone controlling body (which in turn is affiliated with the ANBC). Each state/zone body controls the issue of rings bearing the secret code. Only birds bearing these rings of the appropriate year - still owned by the original breeder - are eligible for the Nationals.

wow kaz you are doing well with your grey wing i wish my clearwings wear that big
Don't despair Shannon! Greywings and Clearwing varieties are completely different, a good Greywing can compete with a Normal dominant variety but Clearwings don't. :laughter:
