Breeding Again

Recommended Posts

I am so excited, after ages of waiting I finally have two :nest: , and am hoping they will lay 6 as they are first parents :)

I will post pics of the parents soon.

laid on the 19...etc of Sep, they should hatch on the 7th etc...

I can't wait to see what colours they turn out as the hen is a DF white, i think  , although I dont know much about all the types, and the cock is a sky blue recessive pied. :)

so now I have a waiting game... B)

Yay :D

Yay, I love Blue Spangle too, well actually I love all budgies in general :)

These are one of my pet pairs, so I am hoping my show type birds will breed soon, although I don't plan to show them, I just love them too!

Here is a photo from ages ago of the parents... The hen has black eyes not red, so she is a DF white I think

Hey Everyone,

I am still waiting for the third egg to hatch, as Angel laid the first and second at 2 day intervals and then waited 4 days to lay the third

why did she do this? Will it cause a problem in the nest as 1 and 2 will be so much bigger than the third?

I have no forster nests, as they all started at different times and all the others have eggs with no babies yet.

Thanks

Kirsty

Sometimes hens skip days when they are laying. I suppose that if she missed multiple days it may have been that her body had a little glitch, and she did not produce an egg on that day. Most things run like clockwork, but even the best watch can skip a beat or two.

I do look forward to seeing any pics you take.

I had a hen that laid every 3rd day. and this year one of my hens laid 2 eggs on time then waited 6 days to lay the next one and the next one was 2 days after that but the last 2 turned out clear.

Thankyou all for answering my questions,

Angel has three babies, and they all look healthy, so I don't expect any problems.

Sorry I have been recharging my batteries, so I should have some pics soon.

There are a few reasons why eggs don't hatch, you could break the shell & see if the chicks went the full

time,if they did the shell may of been to hard, the chicks may of been to weak to chip out.there is other

thing that can go wrong.I they died before there full time, again there is a number of reasons, but without

seeing the eggs & your set up.I would only guessing. :o
