Hi All,

I would be very interested to know when the members of the forum around the country get their rings. I am guessing that nobody has them yet, but would be interested in seeing how the different states handle the timing of this new ring issue.

Cheers

Over here in WA I have been promised my new rings on 1st September. Our Club secretary is amazing and posts them out so that we all get them on time. :)

If you want to show,at next years National, the birds have to have 09 rings on.I guess all clubs have been told that, by there state body.

we were told sep first too

also something about haveing two rings cause of one of the shows and then something about cutting one ring off if you decide to bench the bird for something and just leaving one colour on

i have no clue  as i have no clue  and i will most probably continue to have no clue :wacko::D

all the stuffs to much for me to comprehend i knew this joining club thing would be to much for my brain :wine

but i will persist :D:D

Thanks for the replies. I know we are supposed to get them on Sept 1, but what I really wan't to know is how much variation is there from state to state in actual arrival date? Do they all arrive Sept 1 or are some earlier and if so how much earlier?

Cheers, PT

No one from NSW & QLD, have put up there hand yet,as a matter a fact. Not many have said to much.

Your right GB about the 2 rings,it is a bit complakated & it would take me to long to explain it.

But if you think you might breed a bird for the National, put a 09 ring on. ;)

I think the delivery date to the states is often a bit before the official ring issue date so that gives state ring stewards time to divide into club orders and then club ring stewards have time to send rings out for the 1st of September. I know that the rings have already arrived in WA to the WABC ring steward and they will posted out to club stewards towards the end of the month.

Too slow, Kaz beat me to it.

Who has stipulated they cant be posted until after the 24th of August????

The 24th is a full week before 1st of sept, most postal deliveries only take 2-3 days maximum, meaning most breeders will recieve rings at the lastest 27th of August. I was always under the impression rings were to arrive as close to the 1st of Sept/Jan but not before....

thanks macka im only getting red rings for now anyways ,as they un coded

as for breeding a winner for nats can you even put an uncoded bird in ????

i dont think i would send a bird their not if it was the best one i have bred

i think i would rather breed it first get more good ones

plenty of time for nats

although this coming year will be the only year i would actually be able to be present due to it being in vic

Its up to the ring registrar as to when they get to post them to arrive to certain people ( country or local ) on or before the Sept 1st. I was basing that on them getting to me for distribution first. Then when I can get them into the post for everyone. Obviously I wont be getting them to people too early.

For some of us near enough to 1 week from posting is not unexpected. We only get post 3x per week.

Typical ring registrar ;)

But how are you going to ensure that all members will get their rings exactly on the 1st September or will you not post them out until that date?

I expect there will be a big variance across the country - a day prior would be acceptable, anything more is not. The ring issue date is 1st Sept...........

:D Australia Express Post to the Outer Regions e.g. Bundaburg and Roma. Normal post to closer clubs.

The rings will go late on Friday 28th so that the Club Ring Stewards have them either Monday 31st or midday 1st September.

They then distribute on the day.

Last year every one recieved them on the day except one club that got them a day late. "Can't help Australia Post" ;)

I pitty the Club Ring Stewards as the members will be waiting on thier door steps.

I'm not expecting to get to the nationals anytime soon anyway.

Its about the breeding season and the birds being ready for the nationals. Not to do with the actual year. We are amidst a change of ring issue dates.
