I am thinking about taming him a little bit more but don't want to frighten him too much because he's older. Is this a good idea or should I leave him be? Could I try putting my finger near him for 10 minutes or so everyday? Link to comment

The biggest thing is gaining their trust so forcing them to do anything they don't want to do is a no no especially with hands. Link to comment

It just takes alot of patience and gaining his trust. Once you gain his trust he will be more easier to work with. l tamed 2 budgies who where around 2 years of age. It took me almost 6 months to gain their complete trust. All budgies are different, some will respond quicker to you while others are slower. Link to comment

Food is one of the ways to get to a budgies heart. This could eventually lead to him having to stand on your hand to eat the food. If it works you can progress by putting the cage in an enclosed room, with covered windows of course, and leave your hand, and the food, in his sight just out side the door. Lemme know how he turns out Cheers, Jacob Link to comment
