okay there has been a little dispturbance in the CheekyBlue avairys this month:

First, Pepper's mate Kissy died, we have only latly got here a new mate: Salt

IMG_0001.jpg

so I thought that every thing was okay and that was that.

Next I realised that when I was away in the Solomons, the rest of my family was going to QLD and I had nobody I could ask to give my birds the daily care that they needed, so I have had to descide to let them all out into the avairy so that they don't need quite so much maintnence. So that was descided.

Last but not leaset, yesterday my brother went up tho the cages and found Lady in the corner of the cage, dead. when I went up and investigated I found an egg stuck to her rear end. I feel terrible. is that eggbound?

so the end of the matter is that I need a new female bird.

So thats what life is like in this part of the world.

okay and once again tradgity has struck.

while I was away in the Solomons, the birds were let out in the avairy and when I returned... Sky was dead. as was my indoor pet Spice. I feel really bad and also angry at my brother for not taking care of them properly. So now I only have 6 birds: Salt & Cloud, Rascle and Pepper, adn Sunny and Butter.

I am missing the rest badly.

Only sunny and butter have a nest at the moment because Cloud is not in BC and Pepper and Rascle are father and daughter.

So thats the story here. I don't quite know what to do at them moment.

That's so sad M6B... :P ...It does sound as if Lady was egg bound....

Maybe next time you could get a pet sitter to come to your house? I know it would cost money - not sure how much - but at least they would be looked at and checked daily?

If I was closer I would have come and checked them for you...

You know this is why many budgie breeders have to think long and hard before planning their holidays ..... :)

I'm sorry you lost some birds M6B, it's always gut wrenching to come home to losses. The last time I went on holidays 2 of my best birds died the day before I was due to return .... :)

Oh sorry M6B that's tough going!

Does sound like an egg bound hen but sometimes even when you are around stuff happens when you breed budgies.

Hopefully the rest of your breeding season goes smoothly.

yeah well some sorry news today,

yesterday I had to take them out of the breeders as our house is sold and we don't know where we are going and such. so I let them all out. Of course, they are all overjoyed but me????

Well such is life. Lucky budgieloverkirsty gets them until our family gets settled again. maybe she'll have some success with them.

Well thats my news.

Well wednesday was the horrible day. Our whole family except for dad went down to taree to say goodbye to the budgies, fish and chooks. I felt pretty sad to say goodbye to them but I made upfor it by bringing my BF home for the night. Anway the place is really quiet now. no pets whatsoever. quite depressing actualy.

We will be traveling for who knows how long sbut I iknow taht I will get them back some thim.

Luv

Hi Everyone,

Pair one have no eggs yet, but she is constantly in and out of the nest, there are no signs of being egg bound?

Pair two have 6 eggs, the first one is due to hatch next Saturday

Pair 3 have 5 eggs, and they should lay the sixth today!
