Any young hens with white on cere, including white with hints of blue are females. Young females and females not in breeding condition have white blue ceres. Link to comment

If I see a bird with noticeable white rings about the nostrils or just a whitish cere in general I say hen. If I see a cere a pinkish color with no white, all the same colour and flatter I say cock.
