Also I dicied to keep the whole of the first clutch. They have to be able to eat on their own. They fledge at about 4 weeks (that means come out of the nest box) but they still rely on their parents for about a further 10 days. So I'd say you should wait until they are at least 6 weeks. The 6 oldest from my two clutches now are 6 - 7 weeks old and they will be going to their new homes next Friday. I mean I sell my ones that you can tell are not going to make the grade at 7 weeks on But the ones that show protental and out of my best birds I keep till that have molted even later like Dazpotential. The line I have going are slow matures that can take up to 12 months or more to come into their glory. Link to comment
