I am not sure how much i paid, abut $77 for a stand with the 3 cages on it - it was a good deal, very good. I put some plastic up, but it was stopping too much air circulation, so I bought another blind, like on my aviary. This one is one wired side, not the one near the fence. This means I can put it up and down without having to worry about air circulation or rain. Link to comment

That time is over, and it is time for a new shed. This is what I have purchased It has a panel at the front to let extra light in, as well as a skylight on one side. It means I need to extend the slab by about 70 cm, but that should be easy. I will also attempt to fix the slight slop on the cement slab. Ultimately it means that I will not waste space on the slab, like is currently happening. So what will happen with the old aviary? Probably be dismantled and disposed of. Not in the best shape. I did rustkill it and paint the majority of the outside - ran out of pain in the back corner. I suppose i will simply take it to the tip, in parts. Link to comment

Offer it for sale here at a reasonable price and someone will want it. Or could it move down the yard and add onto the other aviary ? Will you be adding more breeding cages ? I rang and inquired. all up with extra height and delivery to my door would be $758.50. Hmmm, now you have me thinking - I suppose I could sell it. That is an option. At the moment I have 9 brreding cages, 3 stands of 3. I will be adding more. I think the ones I have at the moment are big for breeding cages, i will get the measurements when i go home, but I think i will buy the next size down in the future. I am also considering whether to leave the stands as they are, or build a more secure Melamine set-up. Maybe both, not doing the setup until January. Link to comment

I only know the size in metres, so is 3.0m in length x 2.18depth x 2.06 metres tall. It fits in the space I have available, so that is what is important. I am okay with the two doors, not an issue. Point Greg in the right direction and set him loose I say!!!My breeding cages are these ones....................... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/BIRD-FLIGHT-EXERCIS...=item3f01755e48 Those cages are not as wide as mine. Mine have the 4 doors down the bottom as well as the two big doors, and can be divided into 2 seperate cages.I might buy some more like yours, but they seem pricey there. I am sure mine were a lot cheaper than that, but i did buy them 2 years ago. Link to comment

As for letting Greg loose and go for it he has chucked the Mickey again and I chucked one back and now I am going with the Garden shed again. And it really annoyed because I went up see about getting car fixed and I mentioned something about tin to him and he said have a look at this, and wow 8 pieces of galvinesed 12ft long too just what I wanted in excellent condintion, and all he wanted was a slab of VB cans for it. How good is that. BUT I came home and told Greg and he was pleased about it but he wants to frame the bird room with BIG FAT BULKY treated pine post and I said NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. how ugly is that and how would I ever line it out. I told I priced 2 inch square steel and i was going to get that but hen I insisted on it being at least 210 cm on the lowest point and that is when he chucked his Micky oh and aprt from my nooooooooooooooo, you could see him seeing red Aw well at least my garden shed will be 210 tall. but a big whole in my pocket. :sadsorry: And then I need heaps of $$$$$$$ to line it out and buy more cages. It has moved on to a new home. To fit my new shed that will be my breeding room I needed to extend the slab slightly - the length of the slab was not a problem, it is just that the fence is on an angle, and at one end it was too narrow for the shed, so the slab was extended by a metre. The shed should fit easily now. The slab will have the chance to set this week, with the new shed going up Saturday. Link to comment
