The mother is spending more time in the nest box, which I can only presume that she maybe getting ready to lay her second clutch of eggs. The male seems to be feeding the young more then her and the young are hanging around the nest box entry. The babies are 1 month old and have been eating millet sprig when I place it in the nest box. thanks Geoff Link to comment

They still need atleast their father at that age but you can take them out of the nestbox and put them in a little icecream tub on the bottom of the cage so dad can't still feed them but the nestbox is empty for mum to start her second clutch. I purposely built my nest boxes deeper to keep the chicks in... :star: The chicks will come out when they are ready. Any time after 28 days. Link to comment

I think we learn more from this then any reading. having said that I am interested to see how the colors come through with these birds and look forward to having a few new healthy birds join the other before the cooler weather comes.
