As soon as Ernie saw it he was after it, chasing it up and down the hallway with such determination that he was becoming a bit careless with his flying. I grabbed the moth and threw it outside before Ernie hurt himself. Do budgies always do this and what would he have done if he caught it? He really looked like he wanted to catch it. Now he's sitting on top of his cage scanning the room looking for it. Link to comment

That would have been a sight to see I have not experienced that kind of behaviour before. If it was one of those really big moths he might have thought it was another bird  Edited December 26, 2008 by **Liv** Link to comment

I should add he was really good at it too. You know how moths flutter around and don't fly in a straight line, well he was able to keep an inch or so from the back of the moth most of the time. Some show breeders feed their budgies cooked chicken (no, don't worry, its not cannibalism as a budgie to a chicken is no different as we are to a cow) Link to comment

I've read some place that quite a few people put the remainder of the turkey carcass in with there budgies after christmas lunch, who absolutely love them... When I questioned them on it they all said it was great protein and had never had any problems from it... Edited December 26, 2008 by JimmyBanks Link to comment

Don't worry, chickens are as close to budgies as humans are to Cows - Birds can eat birds, like mammals eat mammals and reptiles eat reptiles. So unless your budgies are eating budgies there is no cannibalism there Link to comment

When we had a dog, our chickens used to try and eat her dinner right out from under her nose. Liv, ILoveSy&Cilla was saying that their chickens ate chicken.
