Now THAT sounds like a barrel load of fun!! Id go with the concrete mixed into icingsugar / flour trick or throw a heap of traps up there. (make sure there is a dish of water if you go the concrete way) The ferrets could work or else I saw a huge python out the bush the other day- they're quite at home in roofs but have a tendency to move thier tastes onto cats when the rats run out!!
