One of my Dads incubates alongside his hen as she lays large amounts of eggs......9 first round 12 second. I checked another nestbox today to find a new soon to be Dad also sitting and incubating eggs. Counted the eggs and there is 11 !! He is helping keep his share warm. I think its real cute and a sign of the times....budgies dads that are SNAGS ( sensitive new age guys ) Link to comment

Sometimes they help incubate the eggs, always they are on hand to help feed the chicks. The best chicks seem to come out of these nests .... the said chicks don't always go on to develop into amazing birds (it depends on the gene pool) BUT these chicks have the best start in life! Link to comment
