I know what it is Neat, drowning is too passive for you, you want something with a bit of aggression in it… :D like turning them into pancakes with a shovel… :)

OH Libby :D I hope you get the buggers :)

I am a HUGE woose when it comes to killing, even nasty rodents - not because i am against it, but because i cant make my muscles do what my brain is telling them to do. I prefer the rat traps that snap them on the spine. I could not drown them, but i have turned my back and dropped a brick on a half alive mouse in a trap before ***shudders***

The trouble with rats is you can have them for ages just eating seed, but once they kill & eat meat that's what they want all the time & you have to get rid of them. Sorry about your problems Libby, these problems are always worse in the cold weather, as food is short. I think even though it's expensive cabinets need to be inside a room of some kind to protect them & also prevents accidental losses by escape. I should have got your exterminator in over 25 years ago for $90, as he would still be coming back…I think it's hilarious that they can give a guarantee on getting rid of rats or mice. The supply seems endless.

Re the ads thing I have noticed if we are talking about cages there will be ads about cages…taking about rats, exterminators…BIG BROTHER [GOOGLE] IS WATCHING…definitely.

Well good news and bad news...

The good news, no babies or any harm was done last night...

The bad news

Around midnight Bob and I were in bed when we heard a hens angry squaking (You all know the kind) Due to the cabinets being next to my bedroom window we took this as our warning sign something was disturbing them... Well Bob ran out there in boxers and all to find a rat (not able to get into the cabinets due to the new wire we put over them) It hid behind the cabinets for a while as Bob harassed me through the window what to do about... I said I personally couldn't make the decision ... He smashed the cabinets up against it on the wall :o All we heard was a squeek...

Half an hour later we heard another angry hen, again, Bob ran out in his boxers, the rat had gone :o

Where theres one rat there quite a few more unfortunately. We had more movements in the night too. Cricket and Maggie were trying desperately to climb on top of Kens aviary and were giving all the signs that there was a rat or rats on top of the aviary....so our Rat saga isnt finished yet either. :o

You need to have something handy for Bob to use if he sees or finds a rat out there at night....a garden hoe is a good "weapon"of choice as rats dont squash behind cages as easily as dealing with a mouse :o
