I got the 7th egg today but what i am worried about is that she does not seem able to sit on all the eggs and when ever i check her there seems to be one egg pushed to the side but it is always a different egg.

They rotate them  she should be able to manage that many eggs... any more and it gets alot harder for them :rip:

Thnks Libby, it seems strange to me that she is still laying eggs when the first one if fertile is due to hatch on sunday.

7 Eggs!!!!! Yah :) She'll be busy if they all hatch... especailly if she's still laying. I'm sure she'll manage fine though. They seem to know what they can handle.

Yeah, my first egg has hatched. it has only just hatch this morning but she has not feed it yet so i am hoping she knows what to do and looks after it.

Congratulations Deb, most of them know what to do, you just have to take the chance anyway, that’s the only way you can find out. Budgies seem to be able to handle big batches, even if the batch is large they will most likely all survive, but if too big maybe the chicks will turn out a little smaller. Do you have any other pairs that you can foster some to?

Congrats Deb!!! Sometimes it takes the hen a couple of hours before they feed their newly hatched chick, so dont panic yet!!

i only have one pair breeding so no foster parents but if they all hatch and she is struggling to look after them all i can handraise some. i had to handraise my last clutch from when they were a week old and they all survived.
